On Tuesday October 15th and October18th, 2024, from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM, we will be hosting our Small Steps 101 at The Arc of King County, 660 SW 39th St #205, Renton, WA 98057.
Small Steps 101 is evidenced based classes that teaches parents valuable parenting skills and offers an arena for parents to build community with each other. In addition, Small Steps 101 is based on the Research Units in Behavioral Intervention (RUBI) challenging behavior parent training program.
We are honored to have Ms. Thu-Van as our instructor. She came to the United States from VietNam in June 1975 as a refugee. She wasted little time in embracing her new home and attended and graduated from Gonzaga University in 1979. Ms.Thu-Van spent decades working in Seattle supporting the language access cause. She worked as a Healthcare Outreach Worker at the Indochinese Language Bank. She was the Medical Interpreter Service Coordinator at Pacific Medical Center and a Cultural and Language Access Coordinator at Mediala Healthcare. Her recent work was Parent Support Specialist with Children Youth Family at Asian Counseling Referral Service. She and her mother are co-founders of Refugee Woman’s Alliance (ReWa).
